Relevance of Classical Music
Classical music influenced modern music because it introduced chorus. Chorus is a short and memorable melody throughout the song, which means music genre such as rap, country, pop, rock, all has the ingredient of classical music. The most famous example would be the first movement of Beethoven's Symphony No.5 in C minor.

Romantic Era
Wondered why majority of modern pop music are emotional and love related? It has to go back to the Romantic Era of classical music. Romantic Era is different from Classical Era. It's famous by its freedom and personal, because it doesn't have to follow the set of music "rules" set by Johann Sebastian Bach and other Baroque Era composers . Romantic music was first revolutionized by Ludwig van Beethoven, the very first composer who developed the concept of Sonata form, and his work made the transition from Classical Era to Romantic Era. Romantic is personal and emotional. It emphasized on expressing human natural and originality of the song. Romantic Era is the foundation of pop music and almost all musics today, because most of the musics today emphasized on self expression and romance.
Ludwig van Beethoven

Composer and pianist Ludwig Beethoven was born in 1770, a period when Boccherini and Mozart are famous. His father wanted to become the next "Mozart" because of Beethoven's extraordinary music talent. Beethoven was viewed as one of the most influential figure in classical music. Since Beethoven revolutionized Romantic Music, and because his work made an such a great impact to the world two hundred years ago. Many composers started to follow and adapt his style of music. His nine symphonies are the turning point of the music history, and it inspired many composers later on.
